Mya’s Underwater Waterbabies Shoot

After yesterday’s family photoshoot at a very Sunny Mousehold Heath I was mildly optimistic that today’s family shoot would be lovely too. However, opening the curtains to reveal a blanket of thick fog meant it was scrubbed from the diary and instead I got to go with Lynz and Nanny to Mya’s photoshoot!!

I’m really glad I got to go.  I love watching her having fun, and love being able to record the memories even more.  Here’s a little video of her adventure with her gorgeous Mummy and excited Nanny.

Mya goes with Mum to waterbabies once a week and she’s loved it since week 5 of her little life. Waterbabies hold an annual charity splashathon for Tommy’s and everyone dresses as pirates and mermaids. For Mya’s little Mermaid outfit, (made by Nanny Sue), she won an underwater photoshoot.

Enjoy.

I have un-officially closed my books for more business for 2011 but I’m tempted to open up a few slots in December for some mini family Christmas shoots like last year… just maybe. I’ve already had half a dozen people say that they’re interested so if you fancy it, drop me an email and let me know so I can plan ahead!

We have a viewing session booked with Waterbabies next week… I’ll hopefully (fingers crossed) be able to share with you some of the pictures taken!

Tracy - Aw she is so very cute!

It’s been a little while!!!

Well, where do I begin to start!??

August 3rd: “I’m as busy as a bee and the blog has been neglected in recent weeks.  I promise promise promise that I’m going to catch up. ”

That’s the last time I blogged an image from a photoshoot!! Whoops… and even then it was just teaser!!

Since that post I’ve shot 19 weddings, 10 family shoots, 8 “In Love” couples shoots a couple of commercial jobs, a dust off the dress shoot, a beautiful funeral, met and booked weddings with loads and loads of fab couples for next year and have also had the distraction of having a gorgeous 7month daughter that asks me to squeeze her continuously (through telepathic mind thingies).

An extended bout of man cold extreme illness that lingered for weeks kept processing at bay and subsequently the blog posts didn’t follow.   I’ve been keeping facebookers in the loop (www.facebook.com/JamesRousePhotography) with little teaser shots but for you non-facebookers I’m sorry, you’ve been left out in the cold!

Catching up is on the cards.

It’s kind of like staring at a 4 person desert in a restaurant… I don’t know where to start but I know I’m gonna get through it!:-)

Here’s a lovely cuddle to make up and welcome everyone back!

I feel like I’m a broken record saying it over and over again but thank-you thank-you thank-you.  I’ve yet to spend a penny on advertising and I’m busier than I could have ever imagined.  I get referrals from past wedding couples, future wedding couples that haven’t had a picture from me yet, friends, people I’ve never even met! Very very much appreciated!

Rousey is back on the blogging highway!!

Feedback Needed for new Website Visual…

Okay, since I last posted what have I been up to…. shooting loads of weddings, plenty of gorgeous families, suffering from an extended run of cold hardcore level 2 man flu and trying to catch back up with all of the editing.  I’ve also been and had a lunch with Darryl Donnelly to sit down and chat about what kind of direction I’d like to take my new website for a big spruce up!

Considering how little time and input I’ve been able to give Darryl – I think the man’s a bloody genius!  I’m looking for something that’s informal, fresh & a bit more fun to reflect my personality and style of shooting. You’ll notice baby photography has been dropped…. if you’ve missed it before I’m now recommending all studio type baby enquiries to the marvellous Vicki at Pennycress Photography.  This is because I’m too busy outdoors with weddings & families and more importantly she’s tonnes better than me at it anyway!!

Anyways, to save me and Darryl going back and forth back and forth we’ve decided to put the design ‘out there’ for a little bit of feedback from you – followers and friends that have given me the support to make this business take off.  I care that you’ve helped me so much and I care what you think… so hold no punches and give me some initial feedback whilst we’re still at an early stage!  Take no notice of the text, we’re looking for feedback on the feel and style.

I’m still editing weddings like crazy… there is light at the end of the tunnel… I’ll be doing some serious catch up posting in the coming weeks to bring the blog back up to speed! Hope you’ve enjoyed extended teasers being posted on the James Rouse Facebook Page in the meantime!

Thanks muchly!!

Anna - Honest to the core – I don’t like it. I don’t think its you at all! You are not a brown & green dowdy old fuddy duddy! Your images don’t ping! Big mistake – huge – now I have to go shopping!

But what do I know about these things ;)

Boo - Yup – I like!! Very classy, with a huge dollop of fun!! Looks great. xx

Matthew Joseph - Hey James, presuming you got my email…. looking swish but don’t think it shows off your work/style. Looking forward to the update!

Sit tight – I’ll catch up soon I promise

Well – what can I say.  I’m as busy as a bee and the blog has been neglected in recent weeks.  I promise promise promise that I’m going to catch up.  I think I’ve got about 4/5 weddings and a bunch of lovely other shoots to share with you!!

Sarah & John,In Love, Couples Photography – Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, Noroflk

When Sarah got in touch to book the session it was with an excited smile that I learnt they wanted to go to Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens!!

Sarah & John got bought the present by some friends (whom is must be said have very good taste for buying awesome presents!).  Nothing out of the usual for me to be told how nervous they were at the start of the session.  Fast forwards 25mins and it looked like I was auditioning them for the Krypton factor in the play area… another 15mins later and they were doing tiger claw moves for me in the open (I’ve spared the blushes by not including them shots in the set below).

Sarah & John both have a fondness for animals and as annual season ticket holders (only £35!!!) it was a natural choice for a location.  It had never crossed my mind to shoot at one of the many attractions.  I’ll see how long it takes now before I’m off for a family shoot here again or somewhere similar.  I’m ready to go whenever you are!!

Great great fun and thank-you both for my morning out working?? having a good laugh with the cameras.  Best of luck for your wedding day – I’m sure it will all go really well. Looking forwards to seeing some pictures!

Here are a few snaps from the session… (minus the tiger claws)! They both look great, and needed very little encouragement to snuggle, cuddle and kiss!
